Ready For The Weekend!

It has been quite a week for us to say the least!

Last weekend Gibson and I went to the Bossier City, LA dog show. It poured down rain for the entire drive there- it was horrible! But we did make it there safe and sound. Saturday Gibson won BOB and then went on to win a Group 1 under Richard Beauchamp! It was such an honor and I was absolutely thrilled with his performance. Looks like all of our hard training work has paid off. I had so many nice comments from everyone- thank you! The next day he won BOB, but did nothing in the group. Just another day at a dog show!

On Monday, we lost a puppy- White Girl. It was a very sad day for all of us, especially my mom.  I am so lucky to have a partner who works so hard with the dogs. Mom dedicates all of her life to the dogs and the puppies. Thank you Mom for being the best! Now White Girl has joined her grandfather, Jack. RIP.

Today is Thursday and now we are ready for the National! I groomed both dogs last night and packed all of our gear. We leave today to start our journey and I am ready to be in beautiful California. I will try to post results and pictures on the Edgehill Facebook Page.

Mom was also able to take a few pictures of the babies this morning. They are really getting their cute personalities and really want to play. I even spent a few minutes stacking each of them last night. I just love them all. There isn't one that I don't like. I feel so very lucky to have had another beautiful litter out of Gracie.

Growing Fast

It's only been a few days since I've posted pictures, but I'm just amazed at how fast they are growing and changing. Mom has been feeding them 3 times a day and they are all eating great.

This weekend Gibson & I are going to Bossier City for a show. It's a 4 day show starting today, but since I couldn't take off, I'm only going for the weekend. I'll be meeting up with Janice Hayes and my Vizsla client Ashley Uffman. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I finish Ashley's girl Feeway this weekend. She's a beautiful Vizsla and only needs 1 point to finish!

Enjoy the photos. I'll try to post new ones next week after the show.

Like Father Like Sons!

During lunch today, I received a text message from Helyne Medeiros of Seasyde Pointers. It was a photo of a beautiful male dog, but I did not recognize him. So I instantly called and asked who he was- and it's Drew (CH Seasyde As Good As Gold)! Since I have never seen Drew's off show side before, I didn't recognize him- but I should have known because he is absolutely beautiful!

Drew has matured a lot since the last photos that I've seen of him. You can really tell that he has filled out beautifully and he now looks like a mature male.

While looking at him, I saw a lot of my 2 Drew sons: Moses & Gibson. Here are some comparison photos of the boys.

Getting Ready!

I've been working Moses and Gibson a lot lately to get them ready for the National next week. Mom and I have been meeting about twice a week to work them in the grass since all of our shows are indoors.... and I must say that they are doing good.

Gibson is great, unless a butterfly or some other type of bug flies up out of the grass- then he is on hunt/attack mode! So lets just pray that Sacrament doesn't have a lot of bugs, because Arkansas does!

The Big Move :-)

Sorry I haven’t updated everyone on the puppies in a while. Today they are 3 weeks old and they have officially moved out of my parent’s bedroom and into the air-conditioned garage/kennel. Tonight, my dad can finally sleep again without earplugs!

Our friends Chris Schaefer and Lillian Wittenberg came over to help with the big move! Afterwards it was photo time! Unfortunately I was at work all day when the excitement happened. I wont get to see them again until Friday when I go to mom's to pick up Gibson for the weekend.

As always, you can click on the images to make them bigger. Enjoy!

Oops! We Made A Mistake!

Today, our friend Lillian went to mom's house to help with puppy photos. She was also there to assist in the delivery, so she is a very special woman to this litter. Before the photos, mom decided to put collars on the babies so we could start telling them apart.... and that's when they noticed the BIG OOPS! Looks like we have 5 girls and 2 boys instead of 4 girls and 3 boys! I know some people are wondering how we could make that mistake, but at one point Gracie was having puppies every 10 minutes.... and after all, they do all look alike. Plus, Gracie takes excellent care of the puppies so there is never a reason to pick them up 100 times to clean them or inspect them.

We are still trying to figure out the litter theme. Our original plan was an April Fools theme because they were due on April 1st, but because Gracie decided to have them early, we have to come up with something else. Some of our favorite ideas are Money, Last, Night, Midnight & Hot. Hopefully we will decide in a few days. My vote is either Money or Hot.... but I have to get mom's approval first.

Here are some of the photos from today. Don't forget that you can click on the photos to enlarge them.
